The American Breed - Lonely Side Of The City

I know the images are very out of focus and I am going to update them with proper ones when I get the chance. Hopefully coming weekend.

This is the fourth and final studio album by this well-dressed 60's jazz-rock group, released in the fall of 1968.
I really like the cover photo.

The Easybeats - Friday On My Mind

This EP from the australian band The Easybeats was released in 1967. The song "Friday on my mind" was released in 1966 as a 7" single with a nice sleeve as well, but for the EP release they based the sleeve on an earlier french cover.

The Who - Sell Out

This is the third album by The Who. It was released in 1967 and has two panels on each side with ironic commercial photos of the bandmembers in them. The album contains fake commercials and such. A part of the intended irony is that The Who were actually doing commercials during that time.

It is said that Roger Daltry got pneumonia after sitting in the bathtub with the baked beans as the beans had been frozen.

There is nothing really impressive with the design of this album from -71. The colurs are dull and the artwork is boring. I don't really know why I like it. But I do.

Elton John - Madman Across The Water

This is Elton's fourth studio album. Art Direction/design/illustrations by David Larkham. Photography by Bob Gruen and that is why I added it seeing as the cover itself is pretty horrible. The needle and thread is an amazing tool for creating good design but here it just looks childish and yeah, ugly.
But since Bob has been involved I thought it might be worth a post. If you don't know who Bob is, shame on you. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Gruen

Elvis Presley Debut Album.

One of my favourite album covers of all time is The Clash - London Calling and when I found this old copy of Elvis debut album, I got pretty stoked. I had no idea that Ray Lowry did the London Calling sleeve as a homage to this.
This sleeve is ranked #40 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Album Covers and London Calling is #39 on the list.

I thought that this would be a pretty decent way to start this blog.
